Novermber 16th & 17th - Ha Sessions

Good day everyone... This past weekend offered clear skies despite the early start to winter, and with some new activity on the disk I managed to get out both Saturday and Sunday to do some imaging. I am admittedly a bit out of cold tolerance since both days were around -6C when I went out, the SE w...

Hi Franco... Nice to see you got an image in the poor conditions :bow We had the raw SE winds here all weekend, did some imaging both days but didn't quite make it to your balmy high  Saturday was about -7C and today was -4C while out at the scope. Hi Stu... Great to see the magnetometer is back in business, and your data is such a close match to the professional data :bow I saw on the news that much of the UK was getting rain events that were breaking records...likely a contributor to your woes. I remember the dam that was threatening to brea...

Re: Upgrade to the Vegemite etalon tuner

Hi Ken... The motorized tuning looks great!!! I find this is almost a must, since the ability to work at a computer and reach the tuning dial is pretty awkward. I motorized my Lunt etalons years ago with unused JMI focus motors and can control them for desktop software. Really handy when I was using...

Both programs mentioned do a great job on solar images, you will just have to put some time in to see which you prefer.

Re: Mercury run around

Hi Alexandra...

So sad to hear you had such a challenge to experience the transit and a washout to do the outreach.

Your CaK animation looks great...Mercury snaps into sharp focus a few times before the encroaching clouds.

Hi Jack...
Good luck with the event considering the extra work needed to squeeze a few ore minutes out of it!

Cloud and snow in the forecast now...I don't think I can fix this with ropes :o
