Re: Unable to log in with old username and password

Couldn't log in with my old user name (DaveK) and password, and when I tried to re-register with the same name and password the system told me that the user name was already taken! New user name then, and it looks like the forum will end up with a lot of old user names that can't be accessed.

Massive prom

If you're lucky enough to have the sun, get the imaging equipment out! A massive prom has rounded the limb, very complex structure, it's a large prom within the biggest arch I've ever seen. Don't miss it!

Re: PST solar 12th March 2013

There was some extensive flaring around AR 1691 at about 11.00 UT. Just after, a distinct dark surge appeared (still around) and it looks like part of the looping filament that is close to 1691 (easily seen on this excellent image) has lifted off.

Couldn't access the main site today - there is a login request on screen but I could only access via the circuitous Facebook route.

Re: Eruptive(?) Prom on Western Limb ,on 2012-08-23...!!!!

Yes, there was a massive eruption at around 08.00 UT today. I just caught the massive dark filament twisting and moving after initial detachment - you can see it on the movie site for Learmonth on GONG. I'm not sure if this is the same detachment that you've imaged, but GONG is worth looking at, few...

Heads up - amazing prominence

Get the cameras out, as 1519/20 go round the limb there is one of the most beautiful proms I've ever seen, it looks like a giant soap bubble being released.

Spectacular prom activity, 21 Feb

Get the cameras out, there's great prom activity in both the south west, with a huge hanging prom, and the north east, with a large growing prom.

Really good to see that Alexandra, it's wonderful how excited people are when they realise what they can see.
