just an opinion but you’d be way better off dumping the Quark and getting a real solar telescope and then a second etalon. By the time you get done, you will have spent the same money.

there is absolutely zero need to do any live stacking. the live preview will be way more than enough especially if the capture software allows for you to use a false color like red instead of the gray to display.

Don’t worry because the sun is getting smaller and smaller on the sensor as the weeks go by so you will probably have a full disc come the end of May.

Like Mark says, this ain’t rocket science :). We get people like McCarthy show up every couple years and then just keep pushing it further and further for more social media attention until they get caught doing something really stupid and fake.
