Nice images Stu. I have a Lunt Ca II K line 1800 also. Can you elaborate on how you narrow the bandpass? If I understand correctly you added an Omega filter/Baader Ca K line filters to your powermate. I'm guessing the Omega filter is another Ca k line filter. Thanks. Hi, Basically, yes, but with a ...

Sun on 9th December '19

Today was a beautiful blue sky day and I was lucky enough to be off work and able to image our nearest star. I often don't tend to bother much at this time of the year as I often find the seeing pretty poor, or the haze too heavy to obtain crisp images, but I thought it was too good an opportunity t...

Re: Sunday 8th December

You were lucky to see any sun at all today, Alexandra. Nothing useable from here; too wet and windy.

Even when the Sun does show itself, I find it really difficult at this time of the year to get any images worth keeping... almost no detail to be had.

Re: Coronado PST testing

Hi Alexandra, Difficult to say for sure based on this one test. I would suggest that there’s no rush, given that you won’t be able to use the larger scope for a few months, so try the comparison again when the conditions improve in spring and you get more of a chance to ‘fiddle’ with the settings an...
