Re: Results with large aperture ERF

Hi Valery, I'm unsure, yet. The original plan was to swap out the guts of the 150 mm/DS Lunt 35 mod, but I'm loathed to keep swapping back and forth once set up and 'optimised'. It's all working pretty well on the 150 at the moment. I'm bouncing between a good PST, or something more substantive like...

Many thanks, guys. Comments are always welcome and appreciated. A couple of extras; AR2076 with a red filter (Ha 7nm FWHM) in mono and colour using the 250 mm RCT. Anyhow, here they are. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/791/26728239977_14754fedde_h.jpg 20180421_7nm_AR2076 by Stuart Green , on Flickr h...

Good images, Marty. There's lots of complexity in that active region. Maybe a chance of flares if it continues to develop.

Friday Sun April 20th

The afternoon turned out really beautiful and thankfully it lasted until after I got home, giving me the chance to take a few solar images at either end of the spectrum before the Sun was lost behind the rooftops. First up a CaK FD showing the nice active region (AR 2706) emerging from the east. htt...

Results with large aperture ERF

We had a brilliant blue sky day here today and I was lucky enough to get some time on my scope before the working day began. This was the first proper use of my 250 mm RCT truss tube reflector on the Sun after waiting patiently for months for good weather, the right season and after learning how to ...

Re: Flat black

Thanks for the suggestions, Bob. I do have access to a reflectometer at work, so maybe this is I project to be undertaken at some point. I did find Black 2 to be pretty good with normally incident light and less good at oblique angles, so my thoughts here were more about reducing those stray reflect...
