I was looking to do a mod on my Lunt 50 and read on here about an 80mm mod that needed no alterations, it was a VisionKing 80mm from China, I bit the bullet and bought one and it arrived on Wednesday. Do you use a tilt adapter or do Newton rings not pose a problem for you, I cannot get a uniform disc in a single shot I have to do mosaics.I will have to try rotating the diagonal.

Single stack, had a chance on Sunday to double stack and wasn't impressed, my disc shots are not even across (due to tilting) but were worse double stacked although the filaments were much better.

Hi there, the lines are newton rings, it is a common problem with some easy fix's, you could try tilting the camera (my preferred method) or take flats, below is link to an excellent article for solar imaging.

HI, I am thinking of having ago at g-band imaging and came across this https://www.thorlabs.com/thorproduct.cf ... r=FB430-10 at half the cost of the Edmund optics 430nm filter I wondered if it would be suitable, the spec seems the same but with that price difference it sows some doubt.

Newton rings are a problem with this chip but can be overcome, I use a "tilt adapter".

Hi Andi, I have the same scope, when you unscrew the knob you are reducing any pressure so you don't hear a hiss or pop, when you screw the knob in you are starting from a point of equal air pressure in the chamber and outside. You will also find you will have to screw the knob in quite a way to tun...
