Early Doors 11/5/2019
Thanks to my aged Boxer dog I had an early start ( 5:30 am ). Decided to have a quick session once the sun had got up above the hil behind the farm. Anyway, a quick process in Imppg and tidy up here is the first one off the press. 100 frames stacked from 1500 frame concatenated SER. Tal 100/PST stag...

Re: Quick session early doors 11/04/2019 Tal/PST mod
Thank you all. I was surprised at the level of detail given the amount of turbulence, but thankful
for any clear spells ( and something to image :-) )
Stu, I used a plastic bag flat to rid me of some faint NRs, that seems to be the best panacea for me.
Best wishes,
David

I had hoped that the seeing would be pristine this morning. Sadly still a bit wobbly like yesterday. Here is a quick processed image of the AR. I am hoping that I can rescue some proms later. 50 frames from a 1800 frame concatenated SER. Tal/PST mod with PGR G3 camera. Best wishes, David Best viewed...

Grabbed a few SERs just before lunch. Light cloud and wobbly seeing, but glad to have a look-see. Tal100/PST mod PGRg3 50 frames from 900 frame concatenated SER. First session of the year
Well , back after a lengthy lay-off but glad to be imaging again. I barely remembered what to do but managed one image from a late morning session. Quite a bit of high cloud drifting . I had to use a much more contrasty gamma than usual - I hope it was the conditions. I may have been too agressive w...

Re: RAW stacked image in CaK with 280mm SCT
Valery, Thanks for posting raw image. I love processing other folks images trying to reproduce their results using my usual methods. In this case it was more interesting as I haven't processed any CaK images before. I had quite a lot of trouble deciding what was noise and what was artefact from my h...

Re: Eliminating bad frames during stacking?
You could use SER player to save the good bits to separate SER files using the "set marker" facility then concatenate the good bits to a single SER file using PIPP ? If there was a flag in SER player that cut the marked frames it would shorten the process ( perhaps there is a way to "invert" the mar...

Quick SM40 Full Disk 25/08/2018
Dear All, Wasted all morning due to my own stupidity. I could not get a focus on my Tal/PST mode rig. Started to panic thinking my etalon had de-contacted. Anyway a chance test with another scope made me twig that I had forgotten I had hid a telecentric inside a nosepiece hidden behind a 35nm filter...

SM40 FD and Tal/PST active region 11/08/2018
Dear All, Got some sun today so had a couple of quick sessions. Started with the Tal/PST mod and concentrated on the active region. 100 frames stacked from 1200 frame SER captured with the PGR G3. Later had a gap so got the SM40/ 62mm Petzval combo out ( alt-az and drifted to get rid of NRs ). 100 f...

Wonderful detail Stu. Are you near the sea? Seeing is rubbish lately here on the Pennine margins.
Could of course be due to the new obsy not being as porous to the wind as the old one .
