Re: LS50c on a Tak?
Thank you Mark. I spoke with Lunt and they confirmed it has M80x1 threads.

Re: LS50c on a Tak?
Thanks again Mark! That's exactly what I was looking for.
Do you find that you need more backfocus when using the AT60ED in solar mode than when using it for nighttime mode?
If you recall, could you confirm if the LS50c etalon has M80x1 threads?

Re: LS50c on a Tak?
Hiya, I use one on my ED60 f6 scope, I had to have a cell manufactured though to attach it. I would aim to have the etalon as close to the objective as possible as this reduces any tilting moment depending on how you attach it. Most of my recent full disks were taken with the Lunt50 etalon https://...

LS50c on a Tak?
Hello all, I have a LS50c filter (the red one) that I use to double stack my LS50 scope. I was wondering if I could screw this onto my Tak refractor and use a B600 blocking filter to get a single stack scope? Based on my reading from the Lunt website, it seems that the LS50c module was designed only...

Baader Zoom with LS50
With a $18 eyepiece holder, I was able to get a Baader zoom working with my Lunt LS50 with some extra in-travel left to boot. You can see my thread either on Cloudynights: http://www.cloudynights.com/topic/546655-baader-zoom-with-ls50/ or Stargazer's Lounge: https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/275398...

Re: pressure tuner issue
This is a somewhat common problem with pressure tuners. See this thread . Usually the case is that the tuning system requires more grease on the threads or the o-rings need to be replaced. Call Lunt, they'll send you the replacement o-ring and grease. My club replaces the o-rings every few years on ...

Re: Focuser upgrade for my Lunt LS50 H-Alpha Scope
Didn't know that the Feathertouch was shorter than the stock helical. I'm going to go with the Feathetouch since it has more backfocus and that extra 2mm of in travel is pretty crucial to me.

Let me know what they say.saguaro wrote:Great news! I wonder if the Feathertouch focuser allows the same or more inward focus travel as the stock helical focuser. Guess I'll have to ask Lunt.

Re: Focuser upgrade for my Lunt LS50 H-Alpha Scope
As for the Moonlite: (quote) "There is no room to make it have any shorter profile in a crayford design. Sorry, we would if we could- but the design will not allow it. We gave it a little over .4" of travel and the same exact racked in profile as the stock focuser. Price for the new Moonli...

Re: Focuser upgrade for my Lunt LS50 H-Alpha Scope
If any one is interested, Lunt is releasing a faethertouch for the LS50: https://luntsolarsystems.com/product/1- ... focuser-2/
Unfortunately it's only single speed. Moonlite will be releasing one too in around the next month and that one will be dual speed.

Re: Solar Shield
Very true. Was slightly windy today and did notice slight vibrations. Nothing bad enough to warrant removing it for visual, but for AP it's a no go.Montana wrote:I'm just warning you, if it is windy it will wobble your scope no end

Looking for DIY ideas for sun/solar shields you use when observing. Pictures would be appreciated! Thank you.
