Re: FOR SALE: Lunt Double Stack Etalon for all LS60FHa Filters and LS60THa Telescopes
Hmmm, processed it and it ain't the worse ever, but the grid pattern of the 178 is a problem (ignoring the lack of focus bit in this image).
Oh, well, If nobody is interested, I guess a 174mm would get the job done

Re: FOR SALE: Lunt Double Stack Etalon for all LS60FHa Filters and LS60THa Telescopes
Well, there is one but it is embarrassingly bad because my 178 displayed the dreaded double stack grid pattern, plus I was a bit out of focus, so I didn’t bother much with it. But, if you insist ;) I just don’t want to change my 178. As a combo with single stack, I love the images and I have yet to ...

Hi Joseph,
Please send me photos. I might be interested, even though I already have a Borg 90FL.

FOR SALE: Lunt Double Stack Etalon for all LS60FHa Filters and LS60THa Telescopes
For sale is my Lunt 60mm DS module in excellent condition. Comes with relevant literature and Lunt carrying case. I decided that I want to release funds for another project and I also like my single stack images well enough to stick with single stack imaging for quite some time - and learn more abou...

Re: 2016 Mercury Transit... finally touched the photos!
It does transit the sun quite often, about 13 times per 100 years, so we are good to image it again!

2016 Mercury Transit... finally touched the photos!
Will do a 10-12 photos mosaic tomorrow, for the moment a quick video.
It was a lovely event, with swallows flying through the FOV, a plane transiting, the sun setting through thin clouds and a sunspot keeping the sun constant company!

Re: Belated mosaic from June 21st partial Solar eclipse
Thanks Alexandra. There is one unfinished task which I will tackle before the end of the week and that’s the Mercury transit from a few years ago - take a bunch of frames and make a video. I hate manual alignment, but it will be done!

Re: Belated mosaic from June 21st partial Solar eclipse
I really need to do move viewing. I have found that binoviewing increases contrast and detail to an unbelievable extend Vs cyclops mode! I need to get a good binoviewer. I bought a cheap one once. It would not merge the images correctly. I sent it back I got a supercharged one from Denis Levatic, a...

Re: Belated mosaic from June 21st partial Solar eclipse
Good results there, Nick. Quick question. It looks like you have the Moonlite focuser on your Lunt. Does the Pegasus focuser fit on there by default or is there an adapter needed? I've been putting motorized focusers on all my scopes over the past few months (nice to be able to control everything f...

Re: Belated mosaic from June 21st partial Solar eclipse
Thanks much, although there's much I would have done different on the day had I prepared more for it. Still, every time we image the sun is also a teaching time!

Re: Belated mosaic from June 21st partial Solar eclipse
Hi Alfred,
It is a Pegasus motor focuser V1. Allows for quite precise focusing - quite critical for solar imaging in Ha.
Hi Terry,
I live in Nicosia, Cyprus. Which unfortunately makes solar imaging in the summer sheer torture as it is way too hot!
