Paul,
Yes the code is pretty tight on memory. Another option worth trying might be to reduce the number of points stored and displayed for the graphs as they use a fair amount of memory.

Re: DIY Solar Scintillation Seeing Monitor with FC support
Inspired by this thread, I built an SSSM a few months back with good results. I've written a detailed build guide here: http://www.blackwaterskies.co.uk/2017/06/diy-solar-scintillation-seeing-monitor-sssm/ - Full strip-board layout diagram included for the less electronically inclined. - Step-by-ste...

Re: Monster Prominence 3.5 Hour Animation (Ha) - Sun 11th Sept 2016
Great animation. Just one question: do you adapt camera settings during the 3.5h sessions? If you record for that long time, brightness level will probably change when the sun climbs higher. Maximum I reached was 45 minutes and even then I could see lot of changes and deteriorating seeing. I used o...

Monster Prominence 3.5 Hour Animation (Ha) - Sun 11th Sept 2016
My biggest animation yet, with a 100,000km prominence. 169GB of 500 frame SER files taken over three and a half hours. Took a while to sort out the processing but I have a much faster pipeline through AutoStakkert, Imppg and PixInsight for this type of image in future: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bNL...

Final bit of processing from last week's brief sunny spell. It's taken a while to sort out due to the last dozen frames being afflicted by high cloud and thus variable brightness in the background: https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4Qu-wDuUruo/V9Q93e1rvlI/AAAAAAAAJa4/NdMKGBNTWXIdlDK5NTDNbrDk5huqxZ5zQCLcB/s...

Seeing was not so great this afternoon, but I took the first decent opportunity since May to grab these: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZFYYH_gfY6Y/V4urLBVbb5I/AAAAAAAAILI/n3rrS4Gv7UU4LU0YA8mAJhVvDSmLNENIgCLcB/s1600/Sun_Full_16_07_17_14_16_11_g4_ap3628_Drizzle15_final_colour.png https://3.bp.blogspot.co...

Mercury Transit, Lunt LS60THa/B1200CPT/ZWO ASI174MM
The weather has been so generally poor here that I haven't managed to get any new data since May, so still working on my processing attempts with the transit data that I do have. This is one of the better attempts - I can see a clear difference in how on-band the left and right sides of the image ar...

Re: ZWO Camera
Here is the setup with my ASI 174MM and Lunt 60. This is with the ZWO 1.25" nosepiece so if you're screwing the camera directly to the blocking filter then I rack it in slightly more. My ruler tells me that two fingers equals 4cm and the focuser is racked out somewhere between 1 and 1.5cm to be...

Just killing a bit of time processing yesterday's data whilst waiting for the transit to start. Took the day off and it's looking ok-ish but we're right on the line between the cloud to the South and the clear skies to the North so it could go either way. https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c6aoiZRfVUc/VzBfo...

A close up from Saturday. Looks like I am getting some banding with the 2x Barlow so may need to start taking flats. Not sure if it is Netwton's rings (would have expected a smaller scale if so) or banding from the filter - it's in the original frames so not down to processing. https://4.bp.blogspot...

Here's my first one from today (about 9:30am BST). Annoyingly managed to get the corner of the label poking in to the top right of the image, but too lazy to fix today. Stacking with AutoStakkert! 2, if I select the 3x drizzle, I can get much more detail on the centre of the disk than with 1.5x driz...

Hi all, some time lurker just signed up; some of you will know me from SGL. I recently got my hands on a new LS60 and ASI174MM following a lot of research (including on here - thanks for the help so far). Anyway, here are a few of my first attempts: AR2529, 11-Apr-2016, attempt 1: https://4.bp.blogs...
