I will be at my son & daughter's school showing it to the students. I am not totally sure as yet what equipment, scope wise, I am going to use but I will certainly be handing out eclipse glasses.

I see all my images as red. I always think that people and myself included colour their images as close as possible as to what the sun appears with the naked eye. I take it as has been previously said that peoples perception of colour is different.

I found that after failing by applying constant pressure I succeeded by applying a sudden jolt. Not by hitting it but by just suddenly aaplying the pressure. It did take a couple of tries though.

Granulation or convection cells. The heat rising up through the centre and then cooler black circumference, when the matter is heading back down again. Others will be better placed to give a more informative reply.

You should not need to remove the paint. It will go on without too much effort, just persevere. Good luck.

I can't remember off hand but check if there is cutout in the focuser to allow the folded seam of the tube to slot into.

There was no need to cut the focuser tube, just remove the baffle or push it further up the tube so that the focuser tube does not impact it. Do not file the end of the TAL tube, the focuser unit will just push on. It may be a bit tight but is easily enough done. Do you know anyone with a set of tap...
