Was looking to buy an Astro Hutech Hinode Solar guider (without paddle) but have been told by Firstlightoptics (I'm UK based) they are no longer available. HI,

yes this will adjust the pressure of the worm on the wormwheel. But don't think that will adjust the axle being not mounted straight against the wormwheel. (eg the left side up by a few tenths, hundreds of a millimeter, of closer than the right side)

I think you found the problem. Most mounts, particularly big ones, ramp up gradually to a high slewing speed. The more the moment of inertia, the more time it will take. Not easy to find a manual for the ASIAir Plus. But that one seems to have planetary mode (based on video throughput). So that should work. (No idea how, I hate these tablet, phone things)

you can look at FireCapture training videos (on fc website) or have a look at Martin Lewis his website. You will have to search for it (its under skyinspector.uk under extra stuff)

There is nothing complicated in FireCapture (and much more possibilities than a standard sharpcap)

In general, you should target as narrow as possible. But it also depends on things like tilt and curvature ('smile') of the spectral line. 240 sounds a bit wide.
