Re: Weird bands with LS80Tha/DSII
Thanks everybody. It's just weird that I didn't see these before (single stacked). Could it be that the additional contrast that I get with the second etalon makes this more visible? Or did the addition of the DSII create this effect? Ordered the little tilter. I am using a T2/1.25" adapter for...

Weird bands with LS80Tha/DSII
Hi, I bought the LS80THa/DSII https://luntsolarsystems.com/product/ls80haptdsii/ module from Lunt in the hopes of increasing contrast in my solar images. Installation was fairly straight forward. But when I took my first images I noticed some strange bands: https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9Y9WSNb-LmI/Wev...

Re: Alternate exposures with FlyCap (Point Grey)
Thanks. I finally tried out Firecapture and like it (though the UI is something to get used to :-) But so far I haven't found a way to capture with alternating exposure/gain settings.

Alternate exposures with FlyCap (Point Grey)
Hi, I am using Point Grey's FlyCap program to capture images with my Grasshopper camera. I was hoping that some others here use the same program. For the surface and the outer layers I am using different exposures. Is there a way with the FlyCap software to alternate between the two? Thanks Mark

Exposure times with Lunt scope
Hi,
I want to take images with my Lunt scope and PointGrey camera (Grasshopper3). Will I also need to adjust exposure times here? During totality, will I be able to see / image more details of the corona (if I expose longer)?
Any pointers welcome!
Thanks
Mark

Preselecting from large number of images
Hi,
Last weekend, I shot a long sequence of the sun and ended up with 4000+ images. What's the best way of preselecting the best ones programmatically? I tried registax, but it only let's me select 800 or 900 images at once.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Baader 4x Telecentric Setup
Hi,
New to this forum and new to solar imaging. I have a Lunt LS80THa and am thinking of adding a Baader Telecentric (2x) element. I am quite scared of the looooong imaging train that you had to create here. How did you work out the different spacings?
Thanks
Mark
