Alexandra, would processing in PIPP help? In addition to accepting what the SER header indicates, PIPP has a 15 bit input option.

Lovely pictures Mark. Aurora hunting seems a good option when the sun isn't cooperative. Whereabouts in Iceland?

Re: Comparison between G band and K-line filters

Great stuff! It's mesmerizing to watch the granulation cells evolve, and the flowing prominence is stunning.

Re: First try at a big mosaic and an animation
Really nice animation and disks Patrick.
For mosaics, I've had some luck with Autostitch

Thanks Alexandra - your blog has been a great help, especially regarding camera parameters. And thank you for the suggestion of ImPPG - I will give that a try.

Stu and Alfred, thanks very much. Tomorrow's forecast calls for morning sun and freezing temperatures, possibly an opportunity for some h-alpha captures.

Hi Franco, Pedro, Eric:
Many thanks! The cold weather and snow have rolled in here, so I hope to use the time for processing some h-alpha observations made a few months ago.
all the best
