Re: ZWO coming with new planetary mono cam !

Very interesting info Marty. Thank you.
I am not that much into the technical details, follow normally the herd and my gutfeeling combined.

My 174 is the one I go with, only a real smashing alternative could make me change, I guess the 432 is not that smasher for me.

Re: ZWO coming with new planetary mono cam !

My main concern is 9um pixel size first of all.🤨
Will it not be too large..

To be honest the lesser speed I am not too much worried about.
the bit larger chip size is what I do like.

ZWO coming with new planetary mono cam !

ZWO has announced the ASI432MM.

My question: how much would the interest be in this group, replacing the 174mm by this new one ?

See attached comparisson...

220114 AR2923-2924-2925 (with C-Flare)

Hi all, As mentioned in my earlier reply to Stardust (Nigelia), I was busy this afternoon making shots of the three spots (2923+2924+2925) when just around 13:00 hrs GMT 2925 started flaring. The right moment to not stop but to continue. Final result attached, although I am not fully happy with the ...

Re: Heads Up 14th Jan 2022

Looks like I have the C4 class flare in AR2925 from the start, was shooting for 1,5 hrs.

Now processing 150 avi's and see if can get a decent timelapse out of it. Keep fingers crossed, it is going to take time though.

Hi Eric,

Sheer luck that I caught it, as I was aiming for 1 hour on AR2891 with expectations but not much activity there, so moved right in time to 2887..

Hi Brian, I have understood before that the Prominence version basically is a rejected Chromo version, but that the checking in Daystar is not very consistent.
