Re: Very Long ferret! 10-21-2018

here are the offshoot "roots"

Its like, human veins almost. It has to be transporting some material or energy somewhere. It would not trace a path like this if it was not moving something along these line. Path of least resistance...

Very Long ferret! 10-21-2018

If you cant see this ferret line, then I cant convince you its there. This thing's magnetic conformity is incredibly long, and I have the data showing it disappear within a matter of minutes . It also has several roots clearly branching off . These things disappear so fast, I now understand why nobo...

12-bit today

I always had trouble recording in 12bit mode, but today something changed. I was able to record 1 solid hour in 12 bit mode! The quality difference is huge and visually apparent on screen.. I caught some impressive ferret activity around this little region. I am anxious to animate, But first I have ...

Re: RAW stacked image in CaK with 280mm SCT

can you try taking a super wide field calcium video, and post a 100 frame unprocessed/ unstacked sample? I would like to see what the ferrets look like in your captures with the giant aperture.

Re: large gif test 13.mb - high speed timelapse

Apollo, you need to study those dark line ferrets and then publish an article in a scientific magazine! I never have read about them before. May be then some scientists with develop and make a good extra narrow band filter to study these solar features in details. With your present filter I cant se...

large gif test 13.mb - high speed timelapse

This is a raw time lapse using non-processed images, 124 frames. Large file, high speed test. I am looking for ferret motion that is just not visible in processed imaging. Ferrets are visible as dark wispy lines, most are curvy and worm like in shape. Look closely, there are no less than 20 in this ...

Autostakkert will work fine tried autostakkert for 2 solid hours. It just locks up every time. It is not compatible with my computer. No combination of changing the video file works, i tried using Vdub to change the format. I tried using registax to save as registered .avi. There is some memory hol...

But its glued, and the epoxy is the achilles heal of these filters. Its a nice offer but I would of eliminated that lamination to rg630 glass with the h-alpha coat on the back of the kg3. Anybody can glue a kg3 filter right to a baader planetarium 7nm h-alpha filter using canadian balsam in a heate...

Re: image de-rotation?

You can use Autostakkert. It can correct the rotation of images taken with an altazimutal mount. Ohh I wish I could, but autostakkert is not compatible with my .avi files produced by basler pylon viewer, and firecapture is not compatible with my basler 1300-30gm gige camera. I emailed both develope...

Wow, i just spent the last hour and a half derotating these 13 frames manually; using gimp. OUCH. There has to be an easier way, other than tossing my alt-az meade mount away :)

I cant wait to record these cells with my 3x!

image de-rotation?

Does anybody know a software to eliminate the rotation in my images, registax has a button for it but it does nothing..

I recorded some really nice convection cells, but the rotation is super annoying!

Very detailed views, Marty, great images. Your images really make me want to get a quark. That thing operates way better than my three pst mod's and 4 lunt scopes i have owned. Be careful that not all Quarks perform as Marty's one, better to have the possibility to select one among several units. T...

sub angstrom Iron / Fe2 system (green line)

For your consideration. Ultra narrow Iron line imaging filters. One unmounted 58mm 5nm fwhm energy rejection filter (center @ 529nm ) One 2" baader planetarium G-ccd filter Two 1.25" mounted ultra narrow Fe2 bandpass filters. ~1 angstrom fwhm each. center @ 531.7nm The two matched narrowband filters...

this is the 5-angstrom broadband metallic-carbyne filter (Si, Fe1, Fe1p , Fe2, Mg, Ni1P, Ti, Ch) I wish i could crank this thing up to 10,000mm to really look at the dark lines. https://solarchatforum.com/download/file.php?id=34589 This is about as close to matching SDO 1600 I think we can get https...
