Have message headers - subject lines changed. I've started receiving some with "Stephen Ramsden at Solarchat" - now my messages are heading into the spam folder.

From then on it was downhill with problems of network, scope connecting then failing, focuser connecting then failing. Cloud bubbled and closed the blue for...

Re: FireCapture versus Sharpcap?
Sharpcap licence is 'only' £10 per year, I'm happy to pay that if it keeps the thing available. I've delved into firecapture on a few occasions, but found it too confusing for my little brain - so I tend to stick with SC. I've tried Genika - but didn't go further as it doesn't support Altair cameras...

Cooled not necessary unless you're in a hot climate. ( though I use a cooled 174mm as a dual summer/winter purpose ).

Re: Recommended ZWO camera for CaK
Thanks so much everyone for your comments and advice. I find that each time I interact with this forum, I gain a quantum leap in understanding. The dust cover of my SW ED100 converts to a 50mm aperture mask, so it becomes trivial for me to reach F18. Ken et al, how do you achieve a color image with...
