Re: Benchtop Ritchey Chretien Collimating with an astronomy imaging camera.

Interesting question Mark,It would work on a Classic Cassegrain as they have fixed optics. The SCT optical system is a lot more complex. I'd be more inclined to use an artificial star and a camera with a basic SCT as there are to many variables in the optical train.

Benchtop Ritchey Chretien Collimating with an astronomy imaging camera.

I'm not sure if this is the right section, so moderators feel free to delete or move to the appropriate section. Here is a method I used for Collimating my GSO 6" Ritchey Chretien. I don't know if anyone else uses this method. I would suggest that you familiarise yourself with the Instructions that ...

Re: First Light RC6 WL & Lunar testing

Thank you all for your encouragement and comments. The filter I have for the RC6 is only ND 5.0 with an open aperture of 135mm I am would like to get a ND 3.8 filter now I know this setup has good potential. Can anybody recommend a good supplier? Thanks in advance.

Great results Stu,WL granulation is my current solar project. Is there any chance you could post a raw unprocessed stack for comparison with your final images.

First Light RC6 WL & Lunar testing

I have been waiting for a full aperture solar filter for my GSO 6" Ritchey Chretien telescope since March . It arrived on Friday so yesterday I gave it an imaging session session to test exposures. The air was too unstable for high resolution white light solar imaging, so I also did some lunar imagi...
