Re: Full solar disk 6th Feb 2020

Hi, yes orientation can be a "problem". I always try to image straight-thru and place the camera so that north (not suns north, but true north). I have 2 ZWO cams the 120 and the 178 and to get a "correct" image I need to place the 120 with the usb connector upwards, and the 178 downwards. (So sens...

Full solar disk 6th Feb 2020

Hi, just testing my new zwo asi 178mm usb3 with my lunt 60mm double stack today. I had used an older 120mm usb2 b4. Not sure why orientation is different from other image's from the 6th that other people have taken.

Goodness that's really bad considering the cost of these filters. Hope you get a new replacement one, I wouldn't want the same one back repaired at those prices.

Hi,

Very good but I think you need to rotate your Sun 90° CCW in order to get North on top. I see East on top now.

Rainer
Thanks Rainer, I always struggle to know where north is when setting up my camera in the imaging train.

Today I noticed on the side of my home a spot of sunlight. I quickly took my gear out and set up. I thin...

Re: Lunt LS60 DS – Testing a new toy

I think they're great image's. I to have a lunt 60mm pressure tuned DS. I've always first tuned the 60mm without the double stack then add the DS and tuned that. That's what lunt recommends. Not sure what else to suggest.
