Re: Does this appear to be overprocessed?

Looks pretty good! If I pixel peep, I do see some patterns/striations/structures I've not seen before in solar images, even very high resolution ones, almost looks like it could be false detail generated by a sharpening algorithm. I'll get something not too dissimilar if I try and use something like...

Full disc, sunspot, and light activity, 08-10-20

Poor to average seeing, but still fun to see what can be had. Best seeing was on the closeup of the sunspot at the end of the session. Lunt 100 and asi178mm, then: 0.5x reducer for full disc image, camera only+ROI for partial disc and flare, then 2.5x for the sunspot. I tried doing a closeup of the ...

Great images!

Quick grabs from 08-01-20, active region and what was left of the sunspot

Decent to good seeing, nice to get out again after finishing up a local move. I never want to move again, lol. Lunt 100 single stacked and asi178+ROI alone for first image, then with 2.5x televue for sunspot image. https://i.imgur.com/irD8bSI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XPuW5VC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/k...

1hr time-lapse from 06-05-20

Bummed I missed the huge solar prom from the last few days due to clouds and work (but glad ya all did catch it so I could see it!), but was able to get out this morning in so-so seeing to get some viewing and capture in. Seeing degraded as clouds rolled in toward the end of the session, and had som...

Re: Solar prom animation, 06-27-20

the only thing I'm not so keen on is it seems that the animation goes forwards then reverses? rather than looping. Am I correct in thinking that? Ya, it was an option in PIPP when stitching the timelapse together, but knowing that people prefer it not do this is the kind of feedback I like to get! ...

Re: Solar prom animation from 06-26-20

Ah, sweet, thanks! So, I think I got it working, though now I realize I need to get my gifs even smaller as it's taking a while to play it, lol. Wish there was some way to be able to use mp4 vids, since the original mp4 was 1/4th the size of the resulting gif, even after downsizing the resolution an...

Re: Solar prom animation from 06-26-20

That's a beautiful animation well done :hamster: :movie The only problem with MP4 and Youtube is we can't get them up as SPOD :( if you follow Stuart's excellent tutorial you can make a gif in GIMP (freeware) and then host on Flickr. We can show you how to link from Flickr later :) https://solarcha...
