Re: October 8 2020 Observations. A pore!

James, I meant that my computer desktop uses the the link
http://halpha.nso.edu/
as wallpaper, and it is refreshed automatically. See screenshot below. I use a nice utility called Plash (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plash/id1494023538?mt=12) on my mac.

Re: October 8 2020 Observations. A pore!

I first saw it on the Gong H-Alpha site (my computer desktop background is a live image of the H Alpha Network Monitor), then I looked at it with the Lunt. I tried imaging it; unfortunately, the quality was not great: operator skills or lack thereof.

Re: "Astronomie Solaire" - New (French) book on Solar Observation now available

I've been savoring the french version; great book! It pretty much covers everything there is to know about the sun from A to Z (image acquisition/processing included). I hope the English version will be available soon so that forum members can enjoy it too—a lot to absorb.

On average, I find the 15PSI setting gives me the best tuning on my modded scope using a pressure tuned DSII module.
Brian
15PSI most of the time with my Lunt 100 SS.

I'll post a photo of the insides when next out in the shed - it's a weighty unit and most of the weight seems to be a steel box inside a steel case, that plus a hefty battery! Not sure if this is what you are loo...
