Hi Pedro,
For a relatively quiet Sun today, your fab Cal-K image with the TV-101 shows the best of what is happening.

Thanks vm

Thanks James for yesterday's report and today other than AR2776 - things have quietened-down somewhat.

Re: Today's SUN | 20201023 BIG prom (3)

Excellent images Pedro and the "Big One" prom has come out really well - before it eventually disappeared completely.

At 0900z SDO shows very little in the way of proms now, but the 2776 capture is well shown.

Thanks vm

Re: Pores in new NE active region.

Thanks very much for that interesting news James.
Not surprised that this AR should be producing a little more than just the "Big Prom" etc., as although much of that original long AR has faded..

Unfortunately I can't get to the observatory this morning, but maybe later.

Re: Today's SUN (20201022) | BIG prom (2) Good seeing

Thank you Pedro for some excellent imaging and presentation. The "Big One" was/is lasting for so long, that is somewhat unusual after the slow start to #25, but certainly makes up for that start. I see currently 19:30z - that there are also proms in the East and S.East too, so a good day - all in al...

Re: 22/10 Giant prominence Animation

Indeed a very well captured animation of the "Big One" and well worth being pleased with. This area in the N.E. is all from an originally very long AR - still stretching over the border, but with less intensity, but hopefully still more action to come. The prom itself appears to be "standing still" ...

Re: October 21 2020 Observations

Thanks James and your comments are very correct. I'll look-up "Ubuntu" to see if anything useful extra to my IT friend and my professional PC supplier already do. I also have two Win-XP machines, one being an old laptop, which will be needed for when I start work with my StarLightXpress HX-916 camer...

Re: NEW SETUP

Many thanks for that very useful information Peter. It looks as if you had some Sun-shine today, so from you photo of S - E, hopefully you might have tried to set-up and see.. ? During the winter-months especially, ideally to motorise the R-R roof does allow more comfort in between actual observing/...

Re: October 21 2020 Observations

Sorry to hear once again Alexandra that you have computer problems. Have you heard how hammers can help ?? Windows-7 is still about the finest edition ever produced along with XP. That is precisely why my new hi-spec computer (not a laptop) in the observatory was professionally programmed with a Win...

The only problem of you having an observatory James, is those pesky trees, where you would have to keep moving the observatory - I suppose... !! %0% Sunny today at midday here, but can't do anything yet as have to go out. Maybe later. Alexandra - it looks as if you will get one or two Sun views for ...

Re: October 21 2020 Observations

Excellent report James. Still hopeful for some more activity from the NE area and/or even the NW AR. I'm in the observatory just now at nearly 2AM local, completing the final part of tidying all the cables to the scopes etc., and had a nice view of Mars with its' orange glow in an immaculately clear...

Re: NEW SETUP

Hi again Peter. Your garden photo shows you have a Roll On-Roll Off (RO-RO) roof, so for Solar-purposes, which direction is SOUTH as looking at that photo ? Are you able to easily open and close the roof (to save precious time) possibly because it is not-motorised ?? Is mains-electricity permanently...
