You may have miss read my post I have it all mounted on a solar scope and I can get live view of the sun or anything I point it at when mounted on a normal scope but I don’t know how to set the correct camera settings then take a photo and save it.

I have been able to connect it up and get a live view image through a small scope on some trees but that’s the limit of my capabilities. Are there any u...

Point Grey Grasshopper 3 GS3-U3-28S5M-C camera

I am retiring in a few weeks and some dollars will come in handy. I purchased this Point Grey Grasshopper 3 GS3-U3-28S5M-C camera off SolarChat about a year ago and never used it so it can go. I never had the laptop to dive it and never had the expertise to use it. I have mounted 2 x 12v Peltier coo...

GS3-U3-28S5M-C

I purchased this GS3-U3-28S5M-C from a member here (can't remember his name) about a year or so ago and haven't used it and interested in what it would be worth if I was to sell it. I am retiring in 50 days and the dollars would come in handy. If the price is right I will post photos and list it for...

Re: Quark modification- fully screwed connections

If you have ordered the Moonlite with a 2.5" drawtube then it will have a female M68 x 1 thread on it. The Quark has a standard M48x0.75mm (2" filter thread) female thread. The adapter that Mark at JTW Astronomy made for me would work perfectly. Zak my Moonlite draw tube doesn't have a threaded end...

Re: Quark modification- fully screwed connections

I am liking this so I've ordered the adapter but I have a Moonlite focuser which has the 2" female eyepiece holder so I need to know what the thread is on the nosepiece side of the Quark is so I can have a extension tube made to go from the Moonlite focuser to the Quark. Can someone tell me what the...

Yeah I could do that Mark but I prefer to keep my scopes complete and ready to go rather than having to remove & replace stuff from scope to scope.

Does the quality of the diagonal affect solar viewing

I have a Baader Zeiss 1.25'' diagonal on my Quark and 80/400 f5 scope but I need it for a night time scope and don't really want to purchase another one to put back on the Quark because of the cost. Would a cheaper diagonal degrade the view in any way, if it does then i'll have to fork out for anoth...
