Re: Littrow SHG prototype
Ken
Have you resolved the banding issue with the ASI174 camera? I was planning to use this camera with a SHG that I am building but wondering if I should try a different camera.

How do you plan to drive the nodding mirror?

Try Hobby King they carry a large assortment of nylon screws for use in RC model aircraft.

I agree with your remarks. The pad was poured for the heliostat system which was housed in a sky shed POD which covered the pad. I plan to cover the concrete with foam insulation.

Re: Solarscope Project
I have finally installed the solar scope in an observatory and have done the preliminary installation of a coelostat to feed the solar image to the scope.
I am still waiting on the correct sync. motor to drive the primary mirror at the correct rate.

Re: Magnetometer Project
How far do you need the magnetometer to be from buried electrical lines to achieve acceptable results?

Re: Amateur spectrohelioscopes - information wanted
I am in the process of installing a solar telescope with spectroscope that will be fed by a coelostat. I would also be interested in contributing to your book.

Re: Solarscope Project
Ken I use a 1200 l/mm grating and a homemade adjustable slit. Using a xenon lamp I was able to obtain several emission lines but I need a different camera for the scope and SHG. For some reason I am unable to add more photos. The previous post shows a view of the heliostat that I built for the scope...

Solarscope Project
This is a solarscope that I have been working on for the past few months. I uses a 180mm f12 lens and can use a PST mod 2 filter or a SHG that I built for it. It is a stationary horiz. scope fed by a heliostat 2 mirror system.
