Re: PST no visual change when focusing

Changing the exposure time alters the apparent colour and reveals the prominences. It would become more white with increasing exposure. Normally our eyes have such a wide dynamic range that we can see the prominences faintly. Cameras need help.

Re: Big prom animated. 20th September

Thanks for all the comments. DeepSolar64 The main thing that makes this sort of thing happen is ImPPG free software by GreatAttractor. It batch processes the files from Autostakkert (more free software) and then aligns them automatically. A simple planetary camera and more free software, Firecapture...

37 minutes at 4 frames a minute. Pretty good seeing and clear sky all day, warm too. Very unusual but nice!

Re: Tuesday Sunshine

Hi Alexandra I have the camera and did have gamma control after this fix from bart1805 (from Torsten), but have lost it again recently with a laptop reinstall somehow. I am not sure if I can get it back yet. Mark's screen adjustment tweak works for me but it may not do what I like, clouds so I can't...

Re: Searching for the Sun

I guess the solar finders are not setup to centre on the sun, just roughly. With a quark and a long focal length scope it would need to be accurately aligned.
