Untransversaliumisator : SHGrams processing software

Hello, I have made a new version of my old software to process spectroheliograms. You can find it here, at the end of the page : http://www.astrosurf.com/spectrohelio/traitement-shg-en.php there are some explainations (sorry for my bad english) and I hope there is not a lot of bugs say me if you enj...

Re: New spots, new observations on june 8th

Thank you Peter, Wah, Highfnum and Alexandra Wah, the focusing is not very easy because of my strange mechanism. The main lens does not move (it would be more simple) so several parts are tunable : the slit, collimator and camera lenses and camera or eyepiece I use some kind of ruler to adjust parts...

New spots, new observations on june 8th

Hi from France
A little group of sunspots is now crossing the solar disk
It's a good reason to install my SHG and take images
here is a set of SHGrams in Ca-K3 and H alpha lines. I hope that solar activity will increase a little bit

Hi
are you able to post a known part of the spectrum taken with the same spectro, at the same scale (Ha, sodium doublet, Magnesium triplet, etc) ?

Re: 20Jun2017 Spectroheliograms: Hydrogen

Hi Peter, thank you very much for your extensive reply. Your "raw image" is very large (15000 x 2700 pixels) and video must be more than 8Go !. My processing software cannot "eat" such a big image. Maybe after a binning it could be working. Can't you see Doppler effect induced by...

Re: 20Jun2017 Spectroheliograms: Hydrogen

Hi Peter, Very good work ! I would like to know a little bit more. may I ask few questions : - What is the original size of the disk (height in pixels) ? - Do you work with capture in 8, 10, 12 bits ? - What is your method to reduce "transversalium" lines (it looks like what i use) ? - Do ...

Happy to see your responses carbon60 and Peter, I have a page who describes the method and give som explainations as polarity and scale. http://www.astrosurf.com/spectrohelio/magnetographe-en.php If it does not reply enough to your questions, i'll try to continue here Peter, the lower intensity of m...

Peter, the dopplergram shows approaching matter in white (and black for recession)
As you said, in this range of speed, most of the solar disk seems "flat" and appears grey

spectroheliograms - eruption near AR2027

hi all here is a H-alpha spectroheliogram (center of line) on 2014 april 2nd. We can see plages and filaments. There is a flare near AR 2027 but no filaments around it http://www.astrosurf.com/spectrohelio/AR2014/details/0402-Ha.jpg At another wavelength (H-alpha + 1.07A) we can see sunspots at phot...
