You are correct in your thinking, that is why all the large aperture telescopes are all situated on high mountains or volcanoes around the world.
I am sure if you are more into visual a good double stack 60-80mm would do you much better.

I think Calcium K or H is really going to show us a lot more activity over minimum than you think (minimum is classed in WL observations). It will be fun to watch these bright areas come and go.

Absolutely stunning in full res :bow :bow Certainly that new AR and big fluffy worm filament should be easily seen in the Quantum. You need to find the area and gradually turn up/down the heat until you start to see improved surface contrast. It takes a long time to do this but worth the time. Once ...

OK I am really slow but I also have yet to process 8th July and 3rd June so getting the 5th August processed you are very lucky! :lol: I did take the full disc specifically as a present for our own very dear Richard Bailey to cheer him up and I did achieve that :) sadly he has spent the last 3 weeks...
