I stripped my 6 inch mirror with undiluted pool acid - HCl. works great, but the fumes will knock you unconscious. ;) You also have to put a black board behind the mirror to boost the contrast. Philippe, very impressive setup. Your silver covered telescopes look like something they would be releasing into orbit aboard a space craft. You are obviously very into solar work, and your images prove you have years of hard earned experience.

I get bad newton rings on my Lunt LS100 ONLY when I tighten down the camera. If I leave it loose, NO rings at all. Maybe you need to loosen up a bit.
