Re: What camera?

Hi Alexandra. Like Bart says it is down to the f-ratio you are working at. F10ish you're looking at the ASI290M, f20ish your PGR will work nice, for F30+ then a 174 chipped camera is the way forward.

Great capture of the spot! The software looks great, I look forward to giving it a try later in the year when i'm not trying to image in gaps in tree branches.

It works well Bart. You can just about make out the 'double limb' on the full size image. With the sun high in a deep blue sky you will get proms and disk in one shot easily.

Re: Today's Sun (20190120) | WL HR TEC140 F/7

Good luck indeed! Cloud forecast for me. I would take up nephology but they're just boring, grey and flat clouds that we get here. I will be awake not long after 4am so I will keep my eye out incase of breaks...

Nice capture Robert, I see your logic. The sun is still low in the sky though. I have trees and roof tops where I am, so reckon i've a good month before my horizon is clear.

Re: PST Etalon with a Quark, Log & Results

They're all good but I do like number 4. Any chance you could put an unprocessed (straight from stack) version of this image? I'm curious as to what your raw data looks like before processing. Sure thing, Here's the Quark on it's own and the Quark + PST Etalon, no processing, just raw output from 1...

Re: 19th Jan

That's a nice disk even if it is quiet. We're up in County Durham this weekend; frozen ground, bits of snow, mist and fog. No sun whatsoever but nice to catch up with friends. Just waiting in anticipation for this years solar season to begin.
