They're all good but I do like number 4. Any chance you could put an unprocessed (straight from stack) version of this image? I'm curious as to what your raw data looks like before processing.

Thanks Mark

I will give it a go but my feeling is that I get better results with Single-Stack
I think you do too. That 60 of yours is a nice scope.

Re: Today's SUN (20190110) | LUNT60 SS & DS

I always adjust inner etalon first and then get the double stack etalon tuned so there is no banding due to excess tilt. The primary etalon then gets fine tuned accordingly.

Re: Today's SUN (20190110) | LUNT60 SS & DS

Good collection indeed! I'm guessing you run with low gamma on the camera when you are doing your disk shots Pedro? That's why the SS/DS side by side shot the DS looks much darker but with little difference in contrast to the SS shot. My DS shots I run with neutral gamma, sometimes run higher gamma ...

Re: Baader 35nm as ERF

Hi Andrew,

You could use a MagniMax barlow from astroboot https://www.astroboot.co.uk/AstroBoot/t ... eedle=1.25 right infront of the negative collimating beam which would turn the f7.5 light cone towards the target f10.

Re: ERF and UV filter with 152mm f8 refractor and Quark

I think with the 6" triplet it's not the scope that is at risk of damage, rather the Quark. The scope just 'passes' the light, if you think about its perfectly safe (on the scope) using a herschel wedge for example on the sun. As the aperture increases then so does thermal load on the Quarks blocker...

Re: PST Etalon with a Quark, Log & Results

Thanks Mark, that's a good point about starting with the PST and then the Quark for tuning. I'll try that next session. Very best, Due to a small size of a PST sweet spot, this will probably work only for a very narrow FOV. Valery The PST etalon is in a telecentric beam so i'm not seeing a sweet sp...
