Solar Analemma. This outstanding image from Alexandra Hart taken over a period of 4 years charts the midday position of the sun in the sky throughout the year. The north–south component of the analemma results from the change in the Sun's declination due to the tilt of Earth's axis of rotation. The east–west component results from the nonuniform rate of change of the Sun's right ascension, governed by combined effects of Earth's axial tilt and orbital eccentricity.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and looking forward to a great solar cycle 25!

19Jan20 - First Light with C11+ARIES D-ERF+Quark

Even though the Northeast Monsoon brings many clouds daily during this period there are always gaps for solar imaging. This morning I tried out the C11+ARIES D-ERF+Quark combination. Before I go further, I must thank Alexandria for helping me linked up with a fine gentleman to make the holder for th...

Re: Sunday 8th December

Hi Alexandra, Your PST images are very nice. The wintry weather makes them special. Over here, the Monsoon rains reduce chances of imaging to zero in the last 2 weeks. Regarding PST mod, I did mine with some care and I was able to re-assemble the PSTs for the coming Boxing Day annular eclipse. So yo...

Hi Alfred, I took a liberty to process your image a bit further. Here is the result. So, your seeing is even better and the setup has better potential than it seems on the first glance. Right click on the image and open it in a different window to see it in a full resolution. Valery Thanks Valery f...

Lovely additions Alfred, I do love your processing technique :bow Alexandra Hi Alexandra, I have taken a minimalist approach in processing: a. record about 2,000 frames, if possible at less than 5msec exp. b. use about 500 selected frames for stacking in AS!3. c. do not over-sharpen the image in im...

@mauritus,

The CAK images are great. - I am still experimenting how much deconvolution and unsharp masking to do in imPPG. I like the soft version better.

The mosaic was seamless! What software did you use to

1. take the 9 images
2. stitch them into 1?

Hi Eric,

That is a great harvest! How long did you spend to get all of that? I especially like the proms with 2 shades. I must say I have only recorded proms with 1 shade of grey. How did you do it?

Nice catch, Franco. I waited 2 hours for the clouds to clear on 16 Nov 19 and gave up. It cleared 2 hours after that. The following day I got some average images. Hence I am always happy to get something, even poor quality images.
