The Sun - 15th Feb

Another glorious sunny day here. AR12733 continues to rotate into view although it shows no sunspots at this time. Loads of prominence activity in both Ca-K and H Alpha. Seeing was not the best today but I made do :P Proms were pretty faint hence some are quite well stretched! 1.jpg 0.jpg 2.jpg 3.jp...

Re: The Sun - 14th Feb

Thanks Alexandra, Franco :bow2

How far north / south do faculae have to be to count as "Polar"? I wonder if the group in my image from yesterday qualify as they did seem to be at higher latitude than normal (bottom right of this image)

The Sun - 14th Feb

Some good clear skies here this afternoon so had to make the most of that. 20190214_Ca-K_6PaneFD.png 20190214_Ca-K_6PaneFD_ColourInvert.png Very fain prom in Ca-K, noisy due to ridiculous stretch to get it to show. 20190214_Ca-K_Prom.png And then some tri-light images of the active areas. 20190214_P...

Feb 10th - A Bit of an experiment!

I've been considering a short focal length frac for a while, mostly to get full disk images quickly in poor conditions but also to be able to capture full disk surface and proms that I can overlay. A Bresser AR102xs popped up on ABS for a decent price a couple of weeks back so I went for it. It's fo...
