Question Regarding Seeing Conditions & Time of Day
Hi Everyone: This year was a bust for me regarding solar imaging. I moved twice in 3 months, for reasons ranging from flooding in my apartment to an unhinged neighbor. I decided to buy a house rather than continue renting. There were more considerations than just astronomy that went into my decision...

The filaments are quite differentiated, and the granulation is superbly rendered.

Really Lou? Well, that is a revelation. I can understand why the cost is so prohibitive for both, given the meticulous manufacturing process required! I might have a couple of questions for you regarding solar imaging with the 9.25. Perhaps on private message?

Re: My site has been a washout... global warming?
Lou, my ERF is from AiryLab. They had a run recently. I am sure they are of excellent quality, but they don't come at all cheap. I think he has one left for the 9.25. I am sure the Daystar one was more reasonably priced, and I would be very curious to find out how the two perform! Yes, good seeing i...

Amazing detail Lou! I didn't know that Daystar manufacturers such large ERFs. I don't see it on their site. Was it custom made? Is it off axis?

My site has been a washout... global warming?
From Montreal... record rainfall for spring and the summer is just a continuation. I just spent an extended time in India this spring, but apparently did not miss anything weather-wise. I am having my Daystar quantum refurbished, and hopefully will get it back next week. In the meantime, I have a Ba...

Herschel Wedge With an SCT
Hi Everyone:
I was wondering whether I can use a Baader or AP Herschel Wedge with a 9.25 SCT and a full front-mounted ERF? I would like to image solar granulation in WL. Or would a front mounted white light filter be preferable?
Thanks!
Charles
