Re: Second Rotation for Active Region - AR12713 - 15th July

Hi Mark - the pics came out really well - we still have some things to see - it reminds me of when I got into Solar in 2007.

Well done Matt - you have the advantage of being further south than me (central Vic). You must have had good weather as well. Regards, John W.

Partial Solar Eclipse from Hobart

Hi all The Partial Eclipse from Tasmania was a very slight alignment. The skies were blue for the beginning & lasted well after mid-eclipse - my sister calls this an eye ball eclipse.....amateurs :P Here is a quick process from about 1.24pm local time (mid-eclipse at 3% coverage). Back to family act...

Re: Solar Discs 9 July 2018

Thanks Alexandra - I will post images if the weather permits.
It is only a 'slight' Partial but such events make me smile when I think of the spherical alignments.

Hi Eric - no need to excuse the number of discs - always a pleasure to view. Despite the realtively quiet Sun there are still some great textures across the discs.

Sunday 24 June Ha discs

Hi all. It has not been a very big Solar year for me - I do get out when I can & was able to have a look for a few hours late this morning. AR2715 spluttered to an almost C class flare around midday - the slight brightening was obvious but soon settled down. I also captured a jet wing - not quite th...

Hi Valery
I do not recall seeing too many hires CaK images - lots to see - any idea of the scale - how many kilometers the image is?
