Another clear day coinciding with available time - wow, not only the sun was shining but Lady Luck too! But luck always has it limits  I set up early but misjudged the sun's trajectory over the tree tops so had to pick up the rig and move it, then realign, etc. etc. Then the software gre...

Re: Rust on either Lunt or Coronado

The wonder fluid is great stuff. I’ve been using it for years. I can’t attest to it being a cure for the aforementioned glass disease one way or the other. But I use it to clean all my optics. It does claim to protect from fungus etc. I get it from Alpine Astro here in the states.

I have a 0.6A version that Mark reconditioned and upgraded to TEC oven. I’m quite happy with the result. His diagnosis after checking it will let you know if it’s worth your while. In my case I felt the results were very economical I.e. price vs. performance. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Hope...

But my basis for comparison is non-existent. Alexandria, I always enjoy this holiday. The premise is simple yet noble. And it doesn’t h...

I’d love to contribute in some meaningful way. I’m wondering if there are some image processing guidelines we should follow to preserve the scientific value of the data. I keep all my image capture logs. Thank you for taking point and please keep us posted.

Nov. 21 H-alpha

This was taken with my Lunt LS100THa doublestacked with my Solar Spectrum modified T-scanner using a PGR Grasshopper 3 through a Coronado 2X Barlow. This was the maiden voyage for my AiryLab SSM. The SSM log shows 0.56/1.16/1.10 for the surface and 0.71/1.16/1.20 for the prom (best/avg./threshold). ...
