AR2765 and spot

Hi Something for those under the bad weather. This seems like the best I will get today. I had 25min of clear sky between pouring rain and got one shot, one shot more than I expected till next week. Seeing is also awful between the clouds, jumping about all over the place making it very difficult to...

Re: Huge Prom today

It looks like it would have been a nice interesting day, probably going to have some good ARs as well now it's cloudy for a week or moore in the UK.
Thank goodness we have others to show us what's going on.

Huge Prom today

Huge prom shown on GONG at the moment.
Sadly for us in the UK we are covered in cloud an rain at the moment and future forecast does not look good just as another active region is approaching.
Anyway I look forward to some nice images.

Good Look Rod

Re: May 30 2020 Observations

Nice one James well deserved SPOD Can't wait to see what you do with a monochrome camera, you have some nice setups so anything is possible. A for effort don't put yourself down I don't think most of us could do that with a DSLR, I for one would give up in frustration. I love the full disk B&W as we...

Re: Lunt 60mm SS vs DS

Dam it Dan, I WAS happy with my setup :(

That is very clear comparison.
It is interesting how it moves the dark area from one side of the sun to the other, I bet you can play about with tuning for hours, what fun you will have

Very nice loads of detail I like the colour.
Timings make it the third flare of the four yesterday.

Hi Mark
Thanks for that confirmation.

Pretty impressive I have only ever seen one before years ago in my first PST and it was much slower.
Nice it's on the limb.
Still very active area with another big prom building.

WOW did anybody else see that?

At around 11:50 BST On western limb as you see from GONG a hugely bright but small prom Just developed in seconds to around five times brighter than the chromosphere then grew in real time over a couple of minutes to a massive height above the surface. It seemed to throw off the top into space. The ...

Re: 25.05.2020 Proms at 2 o'clock high!

Hi Rusted The only thing I was thinking and this is just my understanding, is the moore images you stack the smoother the noise becomes so when you are sharpening the image you don't sharpen the noise as it has no artifacts to sharpen and create the background rings. It was only a thought as you wer...
