February 17 2021 Observations. WL Only
Session time is 12:00pm EST local time ( US ). The skies are mostly cloudy. Seeing is about average. Not bad for once! The temperature is 36F. Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 27.5x and 83x ( WL ) I got two small sunspots in the northwest quadrant of the disc. Side by side with the easternmost one being ...

Re: February 16 2021 Observations
My weather here has been poor over the last couple of weeks too. It's really slowed down my observations. You have high winds and I have ice forecast for tonight.

Re: February 16 2021 Observations
Thanks for the imaging encouragement everyone. The whole bit seems a bit complex and bewildering to me but I am gonna give it a whirl. I don't intend to stop my visual sessions here but would like to be able to re-enforce my work more with my own images and not relying on GONG and SDO imagery so muc...

Re: Belated FD image from 12th February 2021
Nigella, You have done beautifully with these. I'll have to install Autostakkert on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I hope it doesn't crash. Now if I can only learn to do beautiful images like you do. It looks a bit bewildering to me. But I will certainly try it. I have skills at visual astronomy but am very...

Re: Today's H-alpha SUN (20210214) | single/double/triple Stack
Sweet comparison Pedro, love it! The double stack is the best balance of chromosphere and resolution. While the triple stack shows supreme contrast on chromosphere features, it came at a compromise as the features themselves seems blurred, maybe from capture time from dim transmission? Not sure. Ve...

The triple stack certainly has the contrast but seems to lack a little on the resolution compared to the double stack. Thumbs up on the Pronto!

Pedro!
This is a truly awesome run of images! And you used my two favorite of your scopes, The Pronto and the Helios 1. I always check out your last " three light " image also since it contains a white light view. Today I am cloudy so that's important. Thanks for the wonderful views!
