Re: Prom, AR's 2803 & 2804 | Discs in 395nm & CaK | Feb 22nd 2021
Marty, All your images are superb but again it's the superb resolution the 60mm aperture gives on that 395nm image. 0.7" on a 60mm refractor doesn't seem possible but I do realize it is because of the short wavelength that is being used here. That's easily more detailed than I could see visually in ...

Re: Today's SUN (20210222) | LUNT152 images
They all look great to me. Including the one through the SMII90 etalon. Pedro, that's the one you had Meade to work on and had someone else to work on as well, right? I remember you mentioning it in the Zoom meeting.
You probably have more of a discerning eye than I do.

Good luck Terry on clear skies. I am waiting on your images. Retired life? I haven't got there yet. I still have a few years.

Hi James, Look great and the next step as you said an equatorial mount and then a fixed observatory with a Roll Off Roof = ROR :band Heck Yeah!!!! :D You will see how comfortable it will be specially when getting older and now it is the time to do it. Go out, push the roof away and ready to go ... ...

Thank you Alexandra. I may be keeping the screen too bright and I start with the DS on. I am going about it all backwards. Nothing unusual for me! ~laughing~. Thanks for the tips. I'll try it.

Re: LUNT 300mm Ha SolarScope - Question ??
Terry, The main reason I chose Coronado over Lunt was cost. My Coronado SMII90 DS cost me 3500 dollars. A double stacked Lunt LS80MT would have pushed me up to 5500. I know sometimes you get what you pay for but sometimes a higher amount of money is hard to come by. Time will tell whether I made a d...

Re: February 21st Ha Session
Excellent work Brian. The filaprom closeup is superb. Looking at your images I feel that I am tuning too deep. Tuning through the filaments making them not show up. Or I am just a little out of focus or both. I try to tune visually before I put the camera in where I can visually see the filaments et...

Re: LUNT 300mm Ha SolarScope - Question ??
You had me wondering Terry. That scope would only be useful in a good climate with clear skies and good seeing. Pedro Re' comes to mind here but even he doesn't have one of these behemoths! The UK and solar observing don't seem to mix well. You Brits have too much cloudiness! But somehow you guys pe...

Imaging setups. 2-19, 20, 21 2021
Here are the imaging setups I used on Friday 2-19, Saturday 2-20 and Sunday 2-21. It's certainly gonna be a work in progress. A better light shroud for the computer and tracking mounts for the scopes are in the plans. After that a CaK filter and Binoviewer for visual use. Then maybe a Sodium D line ...

Hi James... Awesome to see your images to go along with the reports :bow Image quality will improve with practice, but off to a great start! Brian Thanks Brian. Re: over the hill prom with edmund 2 inch scope
John, At F25 this scope should be as free of color as many modern apochromats. I am guessing that the focuser is 1.25". Back in the early 1970s many small refractors came with .965 focusers. I started with a 50mm focal refractor back in 1978. Both it and my 1982 model 60mm Traq refractor both have ....

Thee resolution looks good on this one. I can see the supergranulation. There are two spots in your image. One is very tiny.
Very nice Frank. Now that I have a camera I want a CaK module.
I just noticed the faint haze of the spicule layer on the limb. Awesome!!
