Re: REGISTAX versus AVISTACK

I find I use all three, Avistack takes 20 minutes on my computer to do 1x 1000 image file so if I have 5 pictures I have to go away for a long time and come back but does surface features brilliantly in Ha. I then use the wavelets in Registax. I dread to think if I did an animation of 30 images, tha...

Re: Green filters and the Continuum Filter part 2

A brilliant article Chris, very enlightening! The only thing I would do is to keep all the images the same at the end in B&W, it's difficult to compare when the very last image is the only coloured one. But it stills shows the main point though, just a comment. I really can't wait to try out my new ...

Re: White Light Shots from Yesterday Morning with a ..... 3 inch.

Oh my...

You live in the most wonderful place, I am so envious. I guess you can't see much looking that way, what is the view like 180 degrees round? you are so lucky. Do you just drop off a cliff that way? could be dangerous in the dark if you exited that side :)

Re: a couple of forum changes

I'm using Google Chrome, and the new posts today just led me to the same new posts I read yesterday :( Do I need to click 'Clear all posts' before exiting? as this worked yesterday. I have the setting 'posts since last visit' selected.

A superb collection!! I think number 2 is my favorite, I like that prominence, especially the GONG movie of it blowing away today.

Happy New Year to you too :)

Re: a couple of forum changes

Stephen, like with any forum, if someone feels upset about a post that is never a good thing. Usually the moderator sorts them out but I guess if the moderator is upset then that is worse. Hopefully all of us can comfort you :) People often remember only the bad but think how many people have posted...

Re: a couple of forum changes

I guess with regards to you Stephen, I always think of you as the impartial moderator, the leader of the forum and therefore the wise one, a bit like a judge, which is quite some responsibility. I forget that you are also a customer and have your own views too :) you need two hats! Kind regards Alex...

Re: a couple of forum changes

Hi Stephen, Your work on this forum is extremely admirable. I am currently having problems with the 'green new posts' they are always the same every time I log on, but do reset after a couple of days, this has only been a recent problem of perhaps the last 2 weeks. I log off every time (I'm a bit of...

Re: A small collection from today (28th December)

Thanks Derek! the vines are white Phoenix, a tough and hardy hybrid for chilly places, although they almost died last year after a heavy frost at the end of May, so may be they ain't that tough :( The actual telescope is not too bad, it's the EQ6 mount and counter weights seem to be a tonne in weigh...

Re: A small collection from today (28th December)

Here is a picture from the 100mm Solarscope of the C class flare at 13:40UT. Don't laugh, but there seems a strange double image effect from the double glazing.
