Would love to see the results you are getting. I'm using a tilted 387/10 filter in my CaK system.

Re: White light solar observations,questions..

The best way to use a wedge is with the continuum and uv/ir filter, with appropriate ND filtration. I always use a polarising filter on the eyepiece and then it is easy to adjust brightness just by rotating the ep. At the moment there is little to see in WL so a bigger aperture is better but your ul...

Re: 393.4 bp0.1 - yes it does exist.

What is all this about .1nm or .14nm at K-line. They will both give a great image. With the amount of T ,you will probably need some color glass or an ND filter to drop the transmission down or the exposure will be to fast for the camera. I ask Bob to check if the spacers where high or low index. S...

You need back focus with both. No such thing as a free lunch in solar Marty. Back focus goes in not out.

Re: Lunt 50 vs SolarMax II 60 vs Quark Cromosfere.

No, the lunts and coronados don't do hi-res. Medium res maybe, f20. Above this it's all just oversampling and you might as well just blow up a final image in software instead.

No such thing as a free lunch in solar imaging!

Safe to use yes, lacking in a bit of light too. Why remove the front of the Lunt diagonal and replace with the wedge though? What are you trying to achieve?
