it looks that the T-max adjuster is really difficult to unscrew from SM40. Is that normal? Should I try harder?
Yes, will just unscrew...

Re: Ha Full Disk - Sunday 26th Feb
Thanks guys! Hi Apollo, shooting through the haze / thin cloud definitely didn't help things - when I saw the histogram for the raw image it was all compressed - all the highlights were greyed out and skewed towards the mids, all the shadows were greyed out and skewed towards the mids. Stretching th...

Ha Full Disk - Sundays Sun 26th Feb
The sky kinda cleared yesterday afternoon - the eastern half of the sky (where the sun wasn't) was lovely and deep blue, however the western part of the sky was a thick milky haze. Took a while for me to wait just for it to become vaguely constant (if not good) transparency so I could get this imagi...

I struggle with colour vision myself too which is why I prefer monochrome. Nice image tho! How do you process them?

Re: Saturdays CaK Sun
Thanks Brian! :) Pedro, I don't think it would work using a Baader with ie. stacked with the lunt module - certainly if you do that with the coronado CaK PST it just makes the images dimmer - ie using the 2 complete filters in series. To make it work I had to replace the blocking filter part of the ...

Re: Modified SM40 - A Story of Evolution...
OK, let me re-phrase... If you elect to remove the inside etalon ERF....would replacing the exterior etalon ERF with a Baader D-ERF make a significant improvement.... ( The reason I ask is the added significant cost of the Baader....) With 60mm etalons you consider this as a 'tester' to see if wort...

Re: Saturdays CaK Sun
I still can't understand why you are getting far better contrast on the super granulation boundaries than I get with my Lunt bf600 module . Thanks! :) My homebrew CaK filter has a tighter bandpass than the Lunts ;) 2.2a compared to the 2.4a of the lunt, makes the super granulation much easier to se...

Re: Saturdays CaK Sun
Thanks everyone for your kind words... :) :) I was dreaming of the CaK mod, but it will probably be always in my dreams  Alexandra Fear not as soon I get decent run at the sun one of these coming weekends I will be testing out my 'alternative' CaK filter in place of the Baader K-Line in my h...
