Alex I use an Astro-Physics 152mm F8 at 2400mm EFL and a DayStar Quantum PE .5 Angstrom filter with a Flea2 video ccd camera. :D Randy

The two proms were taken just 20 minuets apart. All images captured with the AP 152mm at 2400mm EFL using DayStar Quantum PE .5 Angstrom filter and Flea2 video ccd camera.

Processing prominence images is all about compromise. You can’t over sharpen and make this gas cloud look like a steel structure, nor can you add so much gamma to bring these faint structures visible and washout all the details. Trying to capture the faintest parts of the prominence will ultimately ...

Was visible yesterday. Image captured .3 Angstroms red shifted. The active filament lasted only 1-1/4 hours then it was all but gone.
