You know Matt that 80mm is the reason for all this rain.I've been thinking about getting a Cak diagonal so I guess that may also be a factor.Seriously though as a kid in the seventies it was always raining here on the coast from Dec through till late February March.

Got this in a 10 minute window seeing was not good so omly used 3x Barlow(top) and 2.4ext(bottom).As I don't have PS can someone direct me to some merging programs with associated Tutorials. These collages are a bit rough Alexandra here is an Inversion of that greyscale Sun pic it turned out OK

That camera you have is amazing. Are they still manufactured? I cant find much info on it. Its amazing what the eye percieves. Experimented using a 3x Achro Barlow today and when the Prom was rotated there was a Bird and a tree.As an aside I thought the clarity achieved with this set up was quite good.Also a pic with more surface detaildue to different shutter speed and what I first thoug...

2 and 3 are definitely sharper.Brian I don't get overly worried about processing its just good to get a result. I hardly ever use the same sharpening in wavelets. I adjust till it looks grainy then back the sliders off till the noise fades.I have only just recently started using sharpening in Picnik...

Seeing was sporadic this arvo but captured some interesting proms
And finally in this pic you'll see some nice rounded black dots at about 12,3 and4 around the Sunspot. They are not artefacts I checked the avi does anyone know if they are Ellerman Bombs

As an aside I was surprised at the middle prom shot on the left it was not till I processed it that I realized its arching structure. Also notice the two brighter flaring structures present. By the time I came back to this area most of the detail had gone.I guess that's why a lot of us enjoy this So...

Hi all got home early and took a few quick pics which I assembled in a collage I had plans to leave the scope out and do more but the temperature soared with the temp in direct sunlight nearing 45C+ . I decided to have a siesta in the comfort of air conditioning.

Today at lunch set up the Lunt for a few quick Avis which I processed after work. Just for something different I processed the 1000 frame avis in Registax 5 enlarged them to 150% then joined them together in Picasa in a collage using the retouch tool to merge the join. Well Chris very interesting. I use that camera (A different brand GSTAR CLR) for live view with a 16" GOTO Dob and the views are very good. Mind you I have it going to a 76cm CRT TV. Being colour it is of course no good for the Sun but I use the B/W version which is a much better product in ter...

Hi Andrea, Nothing special really, for prime focus I process in Avistack 2, then use iterative Unsharp mask at 0.5 pixels, 25% and 0 threshold for around 14 times. For the 2x Barlow it is the same but with a pixel of 1. For my prominences, absolutely nothing happens! sometimes I wonder if anything ...

The focuser is not motorised I focus using a monitor just inside the shed . Then go into the shed to capture. Yes Chris your right too many cables I,ll have to duct them. Thanks all for the feedback .
