Re: Solar convection (AR2394) in motion, time lapses
PS when browsing earlier time lapses of WL sunspots I'm often correct in guessing which solar hemisphere the sunspot was at. Often there's a subtle rotating of the penumbral area. Can this be related to coriolis forces just like we see on earth and it's atmosphere? An interesting idea! I can see ho...

Re: Quark battery problem
You do have to have a decent cable with the Quark from the battery pack, I tried several that didn't work. I ended up using a 20AWG cable as this offers lower resistance than 'thinner' gauge cables. Have you tried the battery pack with other devices, eg to charge your cell phone to ascertain whether...

I now have my 152mm refractor Valery & the Baader full D-ERF, would it be possible to use my full D-ERF with my C8 as well somehow ? If it's possible I know I would have to reduce the end diameter of the C8 tube so I can fix the filter cell to it but is it possible ? You could put the 5" D...

Re: Daystar Calcium H Quark
Personally I think its a bit of a pointless product. Calcium is not the easiest thing because your eyes just don't work that well at those wavelengths plus long term exposure to sub 400nm can't be that good for your eyes. A 5A bandpass is also not exactly difficult to achieve with just a regular di...

That's an interesting link Ewan, thanks for that. It all ties in with decisions i've been making at the moment myself.
