Beautiful results! There's lots of interest in that animation, even if it is relatively quiet.

Have you had above average temps and below average precipitation the past year or so? I am afraid that we could be in for a bad wildfire season if we don't get rain/snow melt to green things up. 2023 was bad out west, but even northern Ontario and Quebec had fires that filled the air with smoke. Yeah - we had snow today too! In fact our local ski hill has had 35" since last Thursday. Fortunately not nearly as much down lower, where there's a fair amount of green starting to come up.

Very nice! It's interesting how certain areas of the moon really stand out in Ha. In saturated "mineral moon" images those two bright craters (Stevinus I think?) are actually light blue or cyan in color.

The scudding clouds and haze made pulling the proms harder with the full disk, and despite only being 40mm f15 the softness of the image is a result of being onband in CaK imaging higher in the lower chromosphere. Re: Coronal and prominence views from sea level
George,
Regarding the 10A Halpha image - I assume that without the occulting disk in place (for example - imaging with just a wedge) those loops would be totally washed out? What exposure did you use for this video?
Thanks!
Kevin

Those are really amazing! The 10A Ha is quite interesting - do you by any chance have a comparison GONG image from the same time to compare with? I'm guessing from your comment above that those loops would not be seen in the GONG image??

Re: Positive or negative, that is the question?
I think that's a pretty interesting question. Personally, I find that an inverted image looks much more 3D, so that it's generally easier to understand what's going on. But I've had people tell me the opposite. Interesting how different people's brains evidently process images in different ways. Kevin
