Re: Ha images 250mm RCT 13th June 2023
Hi Stu,
Very nice! Much better than earlier attempts. I hope that from now you will keep the RC cannon fully armed and 100% ready to come to the game immediately as the seeing calms down.
Good luck and as much sunny weather as possible with tons of good seeing.

Excellent capture and processing. So much detail!
But the inverted image is, IMHO, just a host disk space wasting. Very much the same as to look at a pretty woman photo in an inverted mode.

Looking for more such images with fibrills.
It seems that for further progress with fibrills a sigbifucantly larger aperture required.

Re: Correct me if I'm wrong.
Situations are often solved here when I have an F6 telescope and an etalon with collimating lenses at F7, or F6/F0, F8/F10. Sometimes someone recommends setting the lens to the appropriate F. But I think it's pointless. After all, the aperture of a collimating lens cuts the light cone to its F, if ...

My Quark is several years old and it doesnt show problems yet, i always used a full aperture d-erf solution, so did the previous owner. Hi Group, My concern is that these filters are ion assisted e beam . Which is really not that much different then e beam. Which come down to the coating. My only motivation was to replace the crappy silicone pads that the etalons didn't work well with. I made new ones and the etalons became usable. From the beginning, we are talking about the principle of PST tuning, not about the secondary effects of a bad design of the etalon. Andy is correct. The original tuning method in PST is tilting the etalon. You just REDESIGNED the PST tuning system by changing the princip being inspired by Bob's in...

Re: Small Etalon Improvement For Only $15 USD (13 Euros)
I'd assume the LS40 is nearly identical to the LS35 (see first post of this thread), and the LS40 etalon will be supported equally and uniformly around the perimeter of each etalon plate, and the etaon is seated on the same type of silicon foam rubber pad as the PST and other etalons. The ERF is an...

In my present PST I noticed that banding (due to tilt) is different. Sometime, when only a little amount of tilt required to get to the H-a core, almost full sun disk seen in Ha and more or less uniform. At higher barometric pressure and lower temp, the etalon require a severe tilt and as the result...

Pupak, Nothing wrong with the etalon itself. The picture you see on the solar disk is "banding". It just due to too much tilt required to come to the Ha CWL. This given etalon require too much tilt and you can see the results of such too much tilting - sponges are damaged. I have tested MA...

But... the most impressive (for me!) are the images of the frost on the ground! Never knew that this is easily possible in Florida!
