Superb images Jochen.
They show the latest thinking of another reason why life exists on our earth, the fact that our sun is so unusually stable.

Re: Nice arching prom

Thanks everyone It's just nice to see some action. We have been clouded out, rained on, or the sun has just been blank when there has been a break for the past few weeks. I only captured 500 frames for this image and ASi3 said only 20 percent were above the 50 percent line but scanning through the i...

Nice arching prom

Hi All
I just got home and caught this nice big prom.
I only got one shot before some thin cloud rolled over, when that had gone the sun was behind next doors house.
It was a short lived prom you can catch it on the SDO dashboard.
Nice to see some activity.

Hi Terry Just wondering what tilter you actually tried on the cameras. On my opticstar camera the circuit board with the chip on it is mounted by four screws in the corners sitting on spacers. What I did was remove two spacers on opposite corners then used those two screws to tilt the board and chip...

That full disk is very nice.
It takes me back to my drawing days.
I must get back into it it's so much more relaxing than imaging.
Do you have any detail on how you make you drawing and what equipment you use, not just telescopes and bits but drawing materials as well.

Sometimes thin hazy clouds give you very steady seeing, well known for planetary work, I would also imagine for solar less heating of the earth so even better seeing.
