Point Gray cameras

Post by mdwmark »

If anyone going to be in Boston April 15-17. Point Gray is going to be at (The Vision Show) at the Hynes Convention Center.
They will be at Booth 516. When I was at Photonics West. I talked to them about solar imaging and the amateur astronomer market and they where very aware of this market and take it very seriously. The new camera that they where excited about that had just came out is the Grasshopper3 USB 3 camera the GS3-U3-2356M-C it is a 1" chip 2.3MP(1920X1200) Global shutter camera. Max FPS is 162!
It is using the new Sony IMX174 chip. It has the highest dB of any of there other cameras and the noise is near the lowest of the chips they use. So if any one has time and going to be close it would be worth your time. I don't think this is that big of trade show so they would have time to answer any questions.

Thanks to Mark.
This will be my next CCD telecamera for solar, lunar and planetary works. After this, I believe, the EM CCD telecameras become affordable in their lower price segment.
