Lunt stop production of 35mm ????

Post by DSobserver »

Hi

Apparently Lunt is going to stop production for the 35mm model.

Have you heard about this?

With the current market "opportunities" I'd say it would make sense....the 60mm with the smaller internal etalon is popular and probably easier/ cheaper to make.

Actually, they replaced the LS35 with the new and GREATLY improved LS50 pressure tuned entry-level scope for the same price as the LS35 DLX.. Its $799 and uses an internal etalon on a different style helical focuser. It is also available with the external compact 50mm etalon as a double stacker...(shown)

I debuted it at NEAF this year to resounding cries of how awesome the views were through it.

B600 blocker and a helical focuser... 35mm internal etalon.

They are trying to take over the market for the cheapy with a well designed fully functional scope under $1000.

I believe the $`1295 version for the LS60 is not pressure tuned.

The OPT site gives $1596 for a 60mm , BF600 pressure tuned....but seems to illustrate it with the tilt tuned version!!

With one of these scopes for full disks and a quark for high mag views, Meade could quite easily be squeezed out here...

Would be nice for Meade to drop prices of their kit in response, sadly I think they're more likely just to drop out of the market...
