CMOSIS CMV4000 Chip - Experiences???

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

There is currently a thread running concerning the CMOSIS CMV4000 series chips and how it performs on astronomical targets...specifically the sun.

Has anyone here had any experiences with this chip in a camera (or know of anyone who has)? I would be interested to hear how it has performs, good and bad points, and any sample images. I am sure I saw this chip referred to in a European site and the images looked ok to me...though it was not in English so I was not getting a full account of the information.

Any feedback would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks for the link to the sample image, and the discussion on the causes of the newton rings/banding patterns.

Interesting thread peers
thank you for opening the debate and try to clarify concepts around these sensors
my experience with the different sensors I've had, the only one I've tried CMOS (DMK72-micron MT9P031) was disastrous with strong banding effect at all focal relationships,
with Lumenera Infinity 2-1 (CCD sensor) had banding spectrum sunscreen with series 1 0.3A, this filter needs to work to f30, though crowned with 0.7A SolarMax 60 with focal relationships f10-20 not occur banding, the same happens with me lunt filter 100mm refractor vixen put on a 100 / 1000mm, with DMK51 I had a similar experience
initially had thought of a camera-based sensor CMOSIS CMV4000 utlizandola in the large telescope, but if the reviews are not very favorable've seen an alternative for the small system (60 / 600mm SolarMax 60 +) with a camera based on the ICX808 chip put link http://www.ptgreystore.com/grasshopper3 ... -30-icx808
receive a warm greeting
